Project Overview:

Laive S.A., a leading Peruvian company specializing in dairy and meat products, sought to enhance their existing mobile application for third-party vendors. The goal was to introduce new features, improve intuitiveness, and reduce manual interventions. Our team was tasked with redesigning the app to meet these objectives.

Problem & Objectives:

Problem:

The existing mobile app for Laive vendors faced several challenges:

  • Complex Navigation: Users struggled to locate key features and complete tasks efficiently.

  • Manual Workflows: Many processes required repetitive, time-consuming manual input.

  • Low Usability: Confusing layout and inconsistent design made the app difficult for vendors of varying tech experience.

  • Limited Scalability: The app was not designed for easy updates or addition of new features.

These issues resulted in slower workflows, frustrated vendors, and missed opportunities for efficiency.

Objectives:

User-Centric Design: Develop a mobile app that enables vendors to efficiently track daily objectives, manage client information, search and add products, and create and send invoices.

  • Enhanced Usability: Streamline workflows to reduce manual tasks and improve overall user experience.

  • Continuous Improvement: Implement a design that allows for easy updates and feature additions.

Design Process:

1. Discovery & Research

We collaborated closely with Laive to understand their requirements and objectives. This phase involved:

  • Conducting stakeholder interviews

  • Analyzing existing workflows

  • Identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement

2. Workflow Development

After conducting interviews with stakeholders, we created a sitemap to map the overall user experience and identify potential blockers or pain points. Using the insights gathered, we developed an initial workflow, which we then iterated continuously based on feedback from vendors and stakeholders.

3. Wireframing & Prototyping

Once we had a clearer understanding of the workflow, we developed medium-fidelity wireframes to visualize the app’s structure and functionality. These wireframes were tested with vendors using Marvel App, allowing us to refine usability and ensure the design met user needs. All design decisions were based on testing conducted with stakeholders, following a consistently human-centred approach.

4. Usability Testing

Due to the complexity of this project, we conducted weekly user tests to ensure that each version of the app met user needs and effectively addressed the original pain points.

5. Visual Design & Style Guide

We created a consistent style guide covering colours, typography, and UI components to maintain visual coherence across the app.

Results

The redesigned Laive mobile app delivered measurable improvements:
  • Streamlined User Experience: Intuitive design reduced task completion time by 30%, making daily operations faster and easier for vendors.

  • Increased Efficiency: Automation and simplified workflows cut manual data entry by 50%, saving vendors hours of work each week.

  • Positive Stakeholder Impact: Over 90% of vendors reported higher satisfaction and confidence in the app, leading to smoother operations and better client interactions.

Key Takeaways
  • Effective Collaboration: Working closely with Laive’s team helped us deliver a solution aligned with their objectives.

  • Iterative Design: Continuous testing and feedback loops improved usability and functionality.

  • Scalability: The design supports future updates and new feature additions.
