I was born in Japan in 1995 and raised in Peru. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, complemented by two postgraduate certificates: one in UX/UI Design and another in Digital Marketing and Communications.
Throughout my career, I’ve developed a deep understanding of the complexities involved in addressing user needs. While many view UX as being confined to web or app design, I see it as far more comprehensive. UX is integral to every stage of a project, from inception to delivery. It’s about creatively solving problems and continually finding better ways to deliver meaningful value to users.
My expertise spans a wide range of areas, including UX design, prototyping, MVP development, wireframing, usability testing, responsive web design, and UI design, all while adhering to accessibility standards such as WCAG and AODA. I am well-versed in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
I have had the privilege of working with notable organizations such as Interbank and Liquid Agency, where I honed my ability to deliver quick, effective design solutions with a strong user-centric approach. I also served as a UX/UI Designer at Treehouse, a digital health company based in Ottawa, focused on maternal and women’s health. There, I contributed to the development of new website features, gaining extensive experience in rapid prototyping and UI design.
Additionally, I worked as a UX Writer for the City of Kingston, where I refined web content to improve clarity and accessibility, ensuring compliance with WCAG guidelines and enhancing user engagement. Currently, I am a UX and Web Designer at Aurora Cannabis, where I continue to enhance user experiences across the company’s digital platforms, focusing on usability and seamless interaction.
Beyond my professional work, I founded Victoria Vera, a small soap brand, and showcase my miniature food sculptures on Instagram under Espacio Miniatura. These personal projects offer me the opportunity to explore design from a different perspective and experiment with creative techniques in a hands-on way.
